Grayling Scotland’s Public Affairs team regularly hosts training sessions designed to provide insight into the political landscape in Scotland and deliver practical advice for developing your organisation’s political engagement strategy. Our Public Relations team are also available for bespoke media and crisis communications training sessions.

Public Affairs Training Sessions

Each of our training sessions are designed to be interactive, dedicating plenty of time for discussion and your questions. The number of attendees is always kept low so we can tailor the sessions carefully.

Upcoming Training Sessions:

Scotland and Brexit
Date – Tuesday 7th November
Time – 9.30-12.00
Location – 107 George Street, Edinburgh

This training session will cover:
–  An introduction to the Whitehall departments leading Brexit and the negotiation process and timetable with the European Commission
–  The Great Repeal Bill and other legislation in the Queen’s Speech which covers Brexit
–  How UK and Scottish governments are engaging with business and other sectors to inform the negotiation process
–  How an organisation can ensure that its issues relating to Brexit are understood by politicians and officials

Being prepared for the Scottish Lobbying Register
Date –  Thursday 16th November
Time – 9.30-11.30
Location – 107 George Street, Edinburgh

This training session will cover:
–  The Statutory Guidance which explains how to conform with the Lobbying Act’s provision – including interpreting what is and what isn’t Regulated Lobbying
–  An overview of the Lobbying Register – how it works and when you need to submit information
–  Processes to ensure you and your organisation remain compliant with the Act

This event has a nominal charge of £25.00 (not Inc. VAT) to cover expenses. The session will be run by Matthew Revett, Member of the Scottish Parliament’s Lobbying Working Group
